Give a child mental health care every month

In South Carolina there is roughly one school-based mental health counselor for every 567 students. The good news: $50 a month is enough to fund consistent care and support for a student.

Care in a school changes everything.

A child who cannot regulate their fear cannot learn to read. Most of the time, nobody sees the fear. They see the behavior, and the child gets removed from the room where the learning happens.

When a therapist is inside the building, that changes. A parent does not have to find a provider, take an afternoon off, drive across the county, and explain their child to a stranger. A teacher gets a partner instead of a discipline referral. A child gets seen during the school day, in a room they can walk to, by someone who knows their teacher's name.

Families steady. Classrooms settle. Children who were surviving the school day start using it.

That is what your monthly gift builds.
